On this page we publish the updates we make to the milez.biz calculator. Any time we add new data or we change the way the calculator works we will post an update here.

Qatar Airways oneworld Rates
The Privilege Club
(Qatar Airways) oneworld
rates have now been added to the milez.biz calculator. You can query the database for flights with partner airlines from the oneworld alliance.
You can also compare the Qatar oneworld redemption rates against 9 other oneworld partner programs. For example see here oneworld partner rates for a New York JFK to Tokyo NRT ticket

US Airways Dividend Miles oneworld Rates Added
The US Airways rates for oneworld
awards have been added to the calculator. This means you can now query milez.biz for award rates with oneworld partner airlines.
Concurrently, all the other oneworld programs have been updated with the added US Airways routes, this means that there can be some attractive short-haul routes, e.g. YYZ-JFK (a US Airways route) with British Airways
Avios (9,000 in economy).

Flying Blue Rates Now Up To Date
All rates for Air France's and KLM's Flying Blue program are now up to date. This includes the "classic awards" as well as the "flex awards".

Dividend Miles No Longer Star Alliance
The US Airways merger with American Airlines has brought an end to the US Airways program Dividend Miles as a Star Alliance partner. We have deactivated the Star Alliance rates on the milez.biz calculator. We will update the system soon with the new Dividend Miles oneworld rates.
We have alerady updated the standard US Airways Dividend Miles
rates, this includes all rates for redemptions on US Airways flights. For example, Charlotte to Sao Paulo
or Philadelphia to Brussels
. Both the current rates and the ones valid as of June 1, 2014, are included.
We have removed the "Availability" button from our search results as awardtravelr.com recently discontinued its availability search functionality. We will look for alternatives to make your redemption searches as efficient and simple as possible.

New Delta SkyMiles Rates Added
Delta Air Lines
many of the redemption rates in its SkyMiles
program. Some of the increases will take effect on February 1, 2014, and the rest on June 1, 2014.
As an example, see how the rates change from JFK to Tel Aviv
All current and future rates are listed side by side in the results table so that you can plan how to best use your miles.

New United Rates Added
United Mileage Plus is making some sweeping changes to the redemption rates of its program. The large majority of rates are being increased; the new rates come into effect on February 2, 2014.
The milez.biz calculator has both the old and the new rates currently available on its system. You can therefore compare the two directly; both old and new rates are listed side by side and labelled accordingly.
The changes impact both the standard United rates as well as the Star Alliance partner rates. Rates within North America remain largely the same, but other than that members will likely have to spend more miles to get to their destinations. Especially the business and first class rates will be increased significantly.
6 January, 2014
Updated Aeroplan Rates
increased some of its ClassicFlight rewards levels at the beginning of the year. This affects primarily flights between North America and Asia in business and first class. These rates have been updated in the milez calculator. For historic and comparison purposes the old rates will remain visible as well for another month.
For an example of changed rates see:Vancouver (YVR) to Auckland (AKL)
or Toronto (YYZ) to Seoul (ICN)
The good news is that all one-way reward flights are now 50% of the return rate (it used to be 67%).

Virgin America Partner Programs
The following Virgin America
airline partner programs have been added to the system:
- Virgin Australia
- Virgin Atlantic
- Hawaiian Airlines
- Singapore Airlines
Elevate members can redeem their air miles on all of these airlines. Most of the programs have zone based award charts (Virgin Australia being the exception).
Some of the award rates are quite attractive and many of the surcharges seem to be reasonable as well, but it's worth checking them.
Redeeming Singapore - LAX with Singapore Airlines is a nice option (only USD 65 fees).
We don't have the regular Virgin America award rates on the system as they are directly related to the cash cost of a ticket. However, both KrisFlyer (Singapore Airlines) members and Emirates Skywards members can redeem Virgin America flights, for example, see what LAX to San Francisco costs with KrisFlyer and Emirates Skywards.

Qatar Airways Joining oneworld
American Airlines and British Airways have had a partnership with Qatar Airways
for a while but QR is joining the oneworld
alliance officially this month. We have already added the new Qatar Airways destinations and routes to all our oneworld calculations. This adds a few new destinations and many new flight routes to the system.
For example, London to Teheran
can now be reached through Doha on oneworld flights. We will add the Qatar oneworld rates as soon as they become available as well.

United Airlines Rates More Granular
The milez.biz calculator now distinguishes between United Mileage Plus
Star Alliance and regular United Mileage Plus rates. Both rate calculations determine the required miles by zone and many rates are the same, but there are a few differences. The regular rates have saver
award rates, you can find both of those in the calculation results.
The main distinction between the two programs is that United has a number of airline partners
that are not covered by the Star Alliance program. All these partner destinations have been added to the calculator. United's non-Star Alliance partners are:
- Aer Lingus
- Cape Air
- Great Lakes
- Hawaiian Airlines
- Island Air
- Jet Airways
