On this page we publish the updates we make to the milez.biz calculator. Any time we add new data or we change the way the calculator works we will post an update here.

New Star Alliance Program Added
the frequent flyer program of Star Alliance partner program Avianca Brasil
has been added to the milez.biz calculator. This means that all of Avianca Brasil's destinations can also be queried in the other Star Alliance program calculators. This adds a significant number of Brazilian destinations and flights to the Star Alliance universe.
The US Airways
frequent flyer program has now been deactivated on our system since it has been completely absorbed by the American Airlines program.

SriLankan oneworld Rates Added
We have added the oneworld redemption rates for one more oneworld
from SriLankan Airlines
Unlike many other oneworld programs that have rates calculated by distance, this one is organized by zones. The program has quite granular zones in South Asia but all of Europe is one zone.
Furthermore, we have added a number of railway stations to the Flying Blue program (KLM, Air France). These are outlier railway stations that can be booked as destinations on international redemption flights.

Calculator Changes to Existing Programs
Korean Sky Pass
is currently running two redemption tables in parallel for SkyTeam
flights, we have both of those rates in the calculator. Not only do the two calculators have different rates but they also have different zones. The old rates are still valid til September 2015 and after that only the new rates will be valid.
The North America zone is being expanded in the new tables, so that Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands are in the same zone! See the difference between the old and the new redemptions here, for Honolulu to St.Croix
.Virgin Australia Velocity
has two distinct calculators depending on who services the award flight, and some routes are served by both rate tables. As an example the LAX to Sydney
or Melbourne to Singapore
flights have significantly different rates depending on the airlines used.

Air Canada Aeroplan and British Airways Executive Club Updates
The milez.biz calculator now includes the Premium Economy redemption rates that Aeroplan
recently added to its award chart.
The British Airways Executive Club
distance rates have been brought up to date. Both the peak and the off-peak rates are now calculated. Remember that off-peak rates are only for BA flights, all partner flights must always be calculated with peak rates
. See an example of the various rates between JFK and London Heathrow
16 June, 2015
We have added a new program to the milez.biz calculator: Ukrainian International Airlines Panorama Club
. Panorama Club members can redeem miles for flights on UIA and on partner airlines. Domestic round trip flights in Ukraine are 10,000 miles for economy and 15,000 for business class seats. See, for example, Lviv to Odessa
Panorama Club members can also redeem flights with partner airlines (Swiss, Austrian, KLM, Air France and TAP). The calculator includes the rates to the partner destinations departing from Kiev (KBP), e.g. Kiev to Rio de Janeiro
. British Airways Executive Club
members can not only spend their avios on BA and oneworld partner airlines, but they can also use their avios on other partner carriers such as Alaska Airlines
. We have added an avios calculator for Alaska Airlines. To compare the difference between using oneworld carriers vs Alaska between Seattle and Honolulu, click here

ANA Star Alliance Calculator Added
ANA's Mileage Club recently changed its redemption calculation schemes to a zones based format. We have added the ANA Star Alliance calculations
to the milez.biz engine. There are ten zones in total, and some of them are quite large: for example, all of Africa and the Middle East are one zone (try Tel Aviv to Cape Town
) and all of Latin America, including the Caribbean -- but not Mexico -- is one zone (e.g. Buenos Aires to Nassau

Updated Turkish Airlines Rates
The Milez calculator now shows the current, up-to-date Miles & Smiles award rates (from Turkish Airlines -- Türk Hava Yolları). The Turkish Airlines destinations as well as the Star Alliance destinations are included and the program now only has one rate table that includes both Star Alliance flights AND Turkish Airline flights.
However, there are a few "Turkish Airlines-only" rates for direct flights within the same redemption zone that we are breaking out in a separate table. For example, Vilnius to Tallinn
or Sao Paulo to Buenos Aires
The Turkish Airlines Star Alliance program has added a couple of extra zones (compared to before 2014) but there are still some interesting zoning options. For example, the Netherlands Antilles are zoned in North America (direct with United from Chicago to Saint Martin
), and Hawaii is in Oceania so that Auckland to Honolulu
would be a good Star Alliance deal at 30K in economy.

Another Korean Update
Our Korean users will be happy to know that we have finally added the Asiana Star Alliance award rates
to the milez.biz calculator. The Asiana award rates are now zone based as well.
Asiana has a very large Europe zone that includes almost all of Russia (only the very far east is excluded), all the way to Morocco and Algeria in North Africa, and from Iceland all the way to Turkey. So a trip from Ekaterinburg to Marrakech
represents a good miles deal!
Hawaii is zoned together with Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America, ergo Mexico City to Honolulu
is also a pretty good deal :)

Big Korean Skypass Update
We have done an overhaul of the Korean Air Skypass
rates on the milez.biz system:
- Rates have been updated for the Skypass program and both off-peak and peak rates are now included
Skypass Skyteam rates now also include domestic rates in places like Italy, France and Romania
- Skypass partner program award rates have been added for Emirates, Alaskan Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines.
To see an example of the partner award rates, try the Seattle to Honolulu combination.

Another Data Update
The TAM Fidelidade
miles calculator has been re-activated with the oneworld
redemption rates. This allows users to calculate how many TAM Fidelidade miles are needed for any flights on the oneworld network.
This update also adds all the TAM destinations to the rest of the oneworld frequent flyer programs. Click here to see all the oneworld rates for Rio de Janeiro to Paris
Furthermore, we have added the Flying Blue
partnership with low cost carrier Transavia
. Transavia operates primarily out of France and the Netherlands. Flying Blue members can redeem award flights to sunny destinations for low rates, for example Amsterdam to Ibiza for 12,500 miles
