On this page we publish the updates we make to the milez.biz calculator. Any time we add new data or we change the way the calculator works we will post an update here.

Milez has added one more SkyTeam, calculator to its engine. Sky Pearl (China Southern)
can now query SkyTeam
rates directly on this site too. Hawaii is zoned together with Mexico the Caribbean and Central America. A redemption from Tokyo to Bermuda
is cheaper than a redemption from Taipei to Los Angeles
. Bermuda to Hawaii
or Maldives to South Africa
(same zones respectively) would also be an attractive option. The China Southern own metal calculators have also been brought up to date.
We have added the new zone based ANA Mileage Club
calculations for ANA own metal flights. For Japanese domestic flights, the engine assumes that the flights are direct.

Another SkyTeam Calculator
China Eastern is a partner in the SkyTeam alliance. Eastern Miles members can now query the milez engine for both China Eastern own metal flights as well as flights with SkyTeam partner airlines. Own metal flight award rates are calculated based on distance flown. SkyTeam rates are determined based on zones.

All Delta Air Lines Fare Buckets
Delta Air Lines introduced a Level 1 to Level 5 categorization to its award flights some time ago. Saver, Standard and Peak rates no longer exist as they were replaced by Levels 1, 3 and 5 respectively. Levels 2 and 4 are new. Not every route has all levels but generally any route that involves an American destination will have the 5 levels in both economy and business class. See for example, Boston to Honolulu
SkyTeam routes entirely outside North America still only have one applicable level, for example Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam

More Booking Classes Added to Asiana Calculator
The Asiana Club calculator now also includes the "Business Smartium" and the "First Suite" classes. These classes only apply to Asiana flights, not to Star Alliance flights.

Latest ANA Star Alliance Rates
The ANA Star Alliance award charts changed only a few months after they had already been changed in April 2015. In October 2015 new rates were introduced once again.
Some of the highlights include:
- 17K fewer miles needed for business class from Japan to Hawaii
For example: Tokyo to Honolulu
- 21K fewer miles required in first class between Korea and Europe
For example: Seoul to Rome
- 30K fewer miles required in first class between Hawaii and Australia
For example: Honolulu to Melbourne
- 10K more miles required in economy between Asia 2 and North America
For example: Mumbai to San Francisco
- 32K more miles needed in first class for Hawaii to South America
For example: Maui to São Paulo

LifeMiles and IberiaPlus Updates
Milez has done a long-due update of the IberiaPlus
award rates. The Iberia own-metal calculator now includes peak and off-peak rates
for Iberia flights. The oneworld
rates have also been updated, the calculator now differentiates rates for single
oneworld carriers and mutliple
oneworld carriers. We have also added a specific British Airways calculator for Iberia avios.LifeMiles
recently introduced some more granular zones
for short haul flights. For example, the USA is now divided into three zones: East Coast, Midwest and South, and West Coast. Short haul flights within the USA or within Europe can now be redeemed for fewer miles. See Miami to Chicago
or Detroit to Myrtle Beach
. Both of those destination pairs are now in the same short-haul zones.

We've done a thorough Emirates Skywards
calculator update. All rates for Emirates and its partner programs are now up to date. We have added the following Emirates partner calculators:
- Jet Airways, for domestic flights in India.
- jetBlue, for domestic flights in the USA and international flights to jetBlue destinations.
- JetStar for flights in Australia and JetStar destinations outside Australia.
- S7 which covers primarily Russia and Central Asia.
We already featured partner calculators for Alaska Airlines, JAL, Korean Air Lines, Qantas, TAP and Virgin America.

Aeroplan Rate Update December 2015
Air Canada's Aeroplan
program is updating its redemption rates on December 15, 2015. For the time being you can see both the current and the new rates on the milez.biz calculator. Some rates are going down and some are going up; it seems that the more popular routes will see an increase in the rates. You will see the old and new rates compared directly on the results page.
Many routes involving the Asia 1 zone (incl. Japan and China) seem to be the most affected. For example, an Asia 1 to Asia 1 redemption will more than double across all seating classes: Tokyo to Beijing
Another example is Seoul to Honolulu
(Asia 1 to Hawaii) where the rates almost double as well.
An example of a rate that is significantly cheaper is Tel Aviv to Mumbai
, ie. Middle East to the Indian Subcontinent. The new first class rate is cheaper than the previous economy rate!
We have applied a fix to the Malaysia Airlines Enrich oneworld
calculator which previously had some wrong zones information.

New Star Alliance Program Added
the frequent flyer program of Star Alliance partner program Avianca Brasil
has been added to the milez.biz calculator. This means that all of Avianca Brasil's destinations can also be queried in the other Star Alliance program calculators. This adds a significant number of Brazilian destinations and flights to the Star Alliance universe.
The US Airways
frequent flyer program has now been deactivated on our system since it has been completely absorbed by the American Airlines program.
