Max Your Milez

On this page we are collecting additional information on how to best redeem your miles on award flights. The calculator allows you to compare the published rates across the various frequent flyer programs but we can't automate all the exceptions, bonus offers and specials that the frequent flyer programs make available, especially since many of them are time limited offers. Some of the promotions sometimes represent significant savings and need to be considered when you look at the redemption rates.

We will make an effort here to include as much of this information as possible. These items will also be listed with every frequent flyer program on the system, when you click on the info button in the search results.

Please let us know if you know of any promotions that we could list here.
Past promotions are listed in our Max Your Milez Archive.

To start a cross-program calculation and comparison, use the widget in the right hand side bar. If you are looking for suggested destinations for your miles, try our suggestion engine.

Etihad Guest members can now convert their hard earned miles into cold hard cash thanks to the PointsPay system developed by Swiss company LoyLogic. So if redeeming a flight is not feasible or if members simply want to use their miles on merchandise they now have full flexibility to do so.

New Loyalty Model Looming?

An article in USA Today, quoting Randy Petersen and Gary Leff amongst others, is drawing attention to the fact that a majority of frequent flyer programs could soon shift from miles based systems to points based systems, the model already used by Southwest and Virgin America. In this type of system all seats that are for sale on a flight are available for redemption and members convert their points into the dollars needed to buy for ticket. Earning miles will also be tied more closely to actual tickets purchased from and flights taken with an airline, in order to better reward loyal customers.
